Ice Cream and Murals with Mayor Dustin Gettel

Midvale Invites Community to Celebrate Public Art with Mayor Dustin Gettel
As part of the upcoming Los Muros on Main: Midvale City Mural Festival, Midvale City invites residents and visitors to join Mayor Dustin Gettel for a special community event: Murals and Ice Cream with the Mayor. The walk will take place on Thursday, June 5 at 6:00 p.m., beginning at Midvale City Hall (7505 S Holden Street) and continuing through the Midvale Main Arts & Culture District.
Participants will be guided on a casual walking tour alongside Mayor Gettel to view more than 40 vibrant murals, including newly painted works created for this year’s mural festival. The event offers a unique opportunity to see muralists in action and learn more about the public art shaping Midvale’s cultural landscape.
The walk will conclude with free ice cream at Altojitos, giving attendees a chance to cool off and connect with neighbors, artists, and civic leaders in a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
“This event is a celebration of community, creativity, and shared public spaces,” said Mayor Gettel. “Midvale is proud to support public art, and this walk is a fun and meaningful way for people to experience that together.”
Murals and Ice Cream with the Mayor is free and open to all ages. It’s a highlight of the week leading up to the Los Muros on Main festival, which culminates on Saturday, June 7, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
