Engage Midvale

<h3><strong>Overview</strong></h3><p>The Redevelopment Agency of Midvale City (RDA) is seeking is seeking community oriented artists who aspire to bring arts and creative experiences to Midvale residents and visitors on Main Street. Interested artists can rent studio space, gain access to a collaborative work environment, and secure their spot in a shared public art gallery and art shop. This space is ideal for artists looking to be part of an engaging and cooperative environment where creativity can flourish and ideas can come to life.</p><h3><strong>Details</strong></h3><p>Situated on Midvale’s Main Street, a burgeoning hub for arts, culture, and dining along the Wasatch Front, the <a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="http://engagemidvale.com/art-house" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Midvale Main Art House </a>is a welcoming space for the public, encouraging engagement with the creative process. The building offers approximately 4,791 sq. ft of open space, allowing each artist to personalize their dedicated 8’X8’ area. Security, electricity, internet, onsite restrooms, and cleaning facilities are included. Studio tenants enjoy access, 7 days a week, from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. Studio space rent is set at $200 per month, with a minimum 6-month commitment. Artists occupying this space commit to spending a minimum of 20 hours per week in the studio during Art House open hours, detailed below. This commitment includes being onsite one weekend day per month for 4 hours and participating in 3 community-oriented events per term (6 months).</p><h3><strong>Benefits</strong></h3><p>Artists will be highlighted and promoted on RDA marketing materials, with opportunities to participate in community events such as monthly open studio nights, Trick or Treat on Main, and Light Up Main Street hosted by the RDA. There are additional opportunities to host lectures, workshops, live discussions, and art shows within the space, with the possibility of receiving funding to support these events. Most importantly, artists will have a significant opportunity to make a positive impact on the community. Their active participation plays a vital role in ensuring and propelling an equitable and inclusive revitalization of Midvale’s Main Street.</p><h3><strong>Art House Open Hours</strong></h3><p><u>Tuesdays:</u> 3:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m</p><p><u>Wednesdays:</u> 3:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m</p><p><u>Thursdays</u>: 3:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m</p><p><u>Saturdays</u> 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.</p><h3><strong>Art House Selection Committee</strong></h3><p>The Art House selection committee is responsible for developing and adopting the governing documents, including the policies and procedures that will regulate the Art House. The committee will also be responsible for reviewing and selecting all artists who will occupy the space. Additionally, the committee will work closely with the artists housed in the Art House to develop a schedule, ensuring that there are always two or more artists in the space during open public hours. In doing so, the Art House selection committee will have the ability to modify the open hours to ensure they are conducive to the schedules of the artists and for public visitation. 2024 Call For Artists Midvale Main Art House

Celebrate the season at the 2024 Light Up Main Street event in Midvale on December 14, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Enjoy a holiday market with unique crafts, a tree lighting ceremony, a visit with Santa Claus, s'mores over fire pits, and complimentary hot cocoa. The event will be held at the Midvale Main Arts & Culture District, 7505 S Holden Street. Local vendors can apply to participate in the holiday market by November 22, 2024.

Midvale Main Art House

The Midvale Main Street Business Alliance, situated within the Midvale Main Arts &amp; Culture District, is dedicated to supporting and promoting the local community through collaborative efforts with Midvale City and other public entities. Our mission is to enhance the area's attractiveness, vibrancy, and economic prosperity for visitors, residents, and business owners. By fostering transparency, shared decision-making, and problem-solving, we aim to create a thriving, inclusive environment. Monthly meetings offer a platform for open communication and collaboration, and all business owners in the area are encouraged to participate. Membership is free, and we expect members to attend at least six meetings annually to benefit from increased exposure, firsthand information on local developments, and collaborative opportunities with city departments. Join us on the last Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Art House to help shape the future of Midvale Main.

Midvale Main Business Alliance

The Midvale City Council, through the Redevelopment Agency, has introduced two key initiatives to enhance the Midvale Main Arts & Culture District. The Midvale Main Adaptive Reuse Loan Program aims to revitalize existing buildings, preserving the area's cultural and historical roots, while the Midvale Main Business Loan Program provides financial support to new and established businesses. Both programs are designed to foster economic growth and community development along Main Street.
