Harvest Days Update
Morning Events Continue, Afternoon/Evening Festival and Fireworks Canceled

Due to the National Weather Service’s Extreme Heat Watch and forecasted temperatures reaching dangerous levels, Midvale City has made the difficult decision to cancel Harvest Days Festival activities scheduled for Saturday afternoon and evening, including the fireworks show.

The safety and well-being of residents, volunteers, vendors, and event participants is always Midvale City’s highest priority. With excessive heat expected throughout the day, city officials determined that proceeding with festival activities and the fireworks show would create unnecessary health and safety risks for the community.

The Harvest Days Fun Run and Pancake Breakfast at 7:00 a.m. and Harvest Days Parade at 9:00 a.m. will continue as scheduled. Attendees are encouraged to prepare for warm temperatures by drinking plenty of water, wearing sunscreen, seeking shade whenever possible, and taking other precautions while participating.

The following Harvest Days activities will be rescheduled for a date later this fall:

• Bingo
• Food trucks
• Kids activities
• Fireworks

A new date and additional details will be announced as soon as plans are finalized.

“We know how much our community looks forward to Harvest Days each year, and we share everyone’s disappointment,” said Midvale City Mayor Dustin Gettel. “This decision was not made lightly, but the safety of our residents, volunteers, and visitors must come first. We look forward to celebrating with our community later this fall and creating another opportunity for neighbors, friends, and families to come together.”

Neighborhood Block Parties

One of the most beloved Midvale Harvest Days traditions, Neighborhood Block Parties bring neighbors together to build friendships, strengthen community connections, and celebrate the spirit of Midvale. Hosted throughout the city, these gatherings create opportunities to meet new neighbors, reconnect with friends, and enjoy an evening of fun close to home.

Midvale Arts Council Hall of Honors & Art Show

Celebrate the people and creativity that make Midvale special during this annual evening hosted by the Midvale Arts Council.

The Hall of Honors recognizes individuals and organizations that have made lasting contributions to Midvale or brought distinction to the community. This year's Hall of Honors inductee is Tyler Library, honoring its decades of service, learning, and community connection in Midvale.

The Art Show highlights the incredible talent of local artists, featuring works in watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media, photography, 3D art, and more. Artists have the opportunity to compete for awards while sharing and selling their work. Admission is free, and everyone is invited to explore the exhibits.

Celebrate Harvest Days at Tyler Library with an evening of free family fun. Bring a photo of yourself or your family enjoying a favorite place in Midvale to contribute to a community art project. Visitors can also vote for their favorite bookmarks created by Midvale children, teens, and adults.

Midvale Arts Council Concert in the Park

Bring your blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy a free evening of live music at Midvale City Park. This annual summer concert is a favorite Harvest Days tradition and a perfect way to kick off the weekend's festivities.

Saturday, August 1, 2026

Harvest Days wraps up with a full day of family-friendly fun and community celebration.

The festivities begin at 7:00 a.m. with the Harvest Days Fun Run with the Rotary Club of Midvalley and a pancake breakfast hosted by the Midvale Community Council. The annual Harvest Days Parade steps off at 9:00 a.m.

Beginning at 3:00 p.m., Midvale City Park comes alive with activities for all ages, including:

• Bingo
• Bounce houses
• Carnival Row
• Food trucks
• Live entertainment
• Battle Zone
• Kids Entrepreneur Market
• Community vendors

New this year, explore the fascinating Scales & Tails Reptile Experience and enjoy high-flying entertainment from the FlippenOut Trampoline Show.

The celebration concludes with a spectacular fireworks show at 10:00 p.m., presented by Vortex Fireworks.
