Pumpkin Carving Competition

We are partnering with the Midvale Arts Council to bring you Pumpkin Alley, a community pumpkin carving competition. Whether you're a seasoned pumpkin artist or looking for a fun family activity, all ages are invited to participate! Bring your best carved pumpkin to display in Pumpkin Alley. You must register to participate. The deadline to register is October 21 by 5:00 p.m.

Then stroll through Pumpkin Alley during Trick or Treat on Main Street, admire the creativity and vote for your favorite. Prizes will be awarded to the top creations!

Trick or Treating
Explore the spooky streets of Midvale Main and trick or treat at local businesses. Who knows what tasty treats (or silly tricks) you might find behind each door? Get ready to shout your best "Trick or Treat!"

Costume Contest
Join our costume contest and show off your awesome outfit! Prizes will be given to the most creative, funny, and spooky costumes.

Ricky the Raptor
Meet Ricky the Raptor, a person in a realistic raptor costume who will be roaming Main Street, interacting with guests and available for meet-and-greets and photo opportunities throughout the evening.

Music
Keep the Halloween party going with DJ DjॐOM providing music throughout the event.

Magic
Prepare to be amazed by The Magic of Josh Burch, featuring a live magician who will bring plenty of tricks to Trick or Treat on Main Street.
Castle of Chaos
Watch out! Spooky characters from Castle of Chaos will be roaming Main Street, bringing some of the thrills and chills of Midvale's local haunted house to the event.

Get a preview of the Midvale Arts Council's new production, Guys & Dolls Sr.!

    Complete the online application to reserve your place in Pumpkin Alley.

    2. Carve Your Pumpkin

    Create your pumpkin masterpiece at home. Traditional carvings, creative designs, and illuminated pumpkins are encouraged.

    3. Drop Off Your Pumpkin

    Bring your carved pumpkin to the designated drop-off location before the event begins.

    Drop-Off Location: 7505 S. Holden Street, Midvale, UT 84047

    Drop-Off Time: October 24, 2026, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

    Upon arrival, your pumpkin will be assigned a number and displayed for visitors to enjoy and vote on.

    4. Public Voting

    Throughout Trick or Treat on Main Street, visitors can stroll through Pumpkin Alley and vote for their favorite pumpkins by scanning a QR code.

    5. Winners Announced

    Votes will be tallied following the event, and winners will be announced online the following week. Winners will also be contacted directly using the information provided during registration.

    One winner will be selected in each age category based on public voting.

    Pumpkin Pick-Up

    Participants may retrieve their pumpkins during the designated pickup period following the event.

    Any pumpkins not picked up by the posted pickup deadline may be discarded.

    Contest Rules

    • One pumpkin entry per participant.
    • Pumpkins must be family-friendly and suitable for all ages.
    • No political, discriminatory, offensive, or inappropriate content.
    • No open flames or candles. Battery-operated lights are permitted.
    • Participants must enter the appropriate age category.
    • Midvale City reserves the right to remove any entry that does not comply with contest guidelines.
    • By participating, contestants grant permission for their pumpkin to be photographed and shared on Midvale City's website, social media channels, and promotional materials.
    • Midvale City is not responsible for damage, theft, weather-related deterioration, or loss of pumpkins.
