The Redevelopment Agency (RDA) of Midvale City is collaborating with artists and the community to transform Midvale’s Historic Main Street into a vibrant arts and culture district. Through events like the Los Muros on Main Mural Festival, the area’s unique culture, history, and community spirit come alive.

In addition to the mural festival, the Midvale Main Arts & Culture District hosts LetterWest, the Tattoo Showdown, and Food Truck Tuesdays. The district also features the Midvale Performing Arts Center and affordable art studios at the Art House, located in the former Midvale City Museum.

    Artist Stipends and Reimbursements

The RDA provides stipends of up to $4,500 for mural artists who are US, Mexico, or Canadian citizens, or reimbursements up to $4,500 for artists from other countries. The amount depends on wall size and covers artist fees, design, supplies, insurance, and equipment rental (excluding RDA-provided equipment).

    Additional RDA-covered expenses:

    • Equipment: Costs for lifts, ladders, or scaffolding will be covered after a site visit by the artist.
    • Wall Preparation: Walls will be power washed and prepped by an RDA contractor.
    • Anti-Graffiti Coating: The RDA provides coating materials for selected murals, with an optional $150 application fee if included in the artist’s invoice.

For artists outside Utah’s Wasatch Front, a per diem of $150/day (up to six nights) is provided for lodging, food, and transportation. Out-of-state artists, including those from Canada and Mexico, receive an additional $350 for travel costs.
